Senior Dinner Dance (
May 09, 2009)
Ladies and Gentlemen,
This year our annual dinner dance has finally come home. We have completed
plans for the event to take place at Freelands with a marquee attatched to
the clubhouse. This will give us a real opportunity to celebrate as a RUGBY
CLUB, so we will reinstate the players awards during the evening.
We have planned for 250 places (25 tables) and the evening will include a
gourmet 3 course meal. This will be followed by dancing to Malfunction which
some of you will already know as an excellent local band. Other distractions
will include a Vodka Luge, sculptured in the shape of the club swan.
Additionally, subject to a small amount of sponsorship we would like to
bring back the Sumo Wrestling Suits.
This year we are trying to minimise our costs wherever possible. I am
hopeful that we can attract a small amount of sponsorship plus donations for
auction and raffle prizes. The ticket price will be £60 / person which
almost covers our overheads and, with your support of the various
fund-raising activities during the evening we should generate a small
surplus which will go to the Ground Fund as we are hopeful of buying the
land we currently lease in the near future. Please make every effort to
organise a table of 10 or join up with friends. We are particularly keen to
accommodate Players, VP's mini/youth parents and coaches plus a few guests.
Some of you have already expressed an interest in booking tables. To ensure
we coordinate these requests properly, please book your table with Tracey
Glover, Steve Solomon, Kate Ford, Alex Steele, Pip or Fiona (Inessence), Guy
Baxter, Joe Leddra. Tickets will be issued 2 weeks prior to the event on
receipt of payment.
This will be a great evening and a chance for all of us to to support the
Club and celebrate how far we have come over our 40 year history.
Kind regards,
Chris Short
