Our U17s, lead by Kevin Church played in a cup match at Romsey RFC on Sunday. Sadly, depsite valiant efforts, Boro were defeated 20-17. However, the referee posted these remarks to Kevin and we should all be very proud of the U17s both on and off the field. Congratulations lads.
I had the pleasure to referee the U17 Cup match at Romsey yesterday and for me it was one of the most enjoyable and refreshing matches I have officiated for some time.
On both sides player attitude and behaviour was exemplary, even when I could detect frustration with the 'run of the ball'. The match was hard & fair, and close all the way to the end. I wish all the players well in their future rugby careers, and look forward to coming across some of them in London Leagues matches in a few season's time.
The overall behaviour of the Pulborough players, coaches and parents / siblings was very good and a role model to other clubs, who aren't quite so well in tune with the spirit, leagacies and sportsmanship of Rugby Football.
In all Pulborough were a credit to Sussex Rugby, and I applaud your Club.
