watch the world cup final on the big screen (October 20, 2007) Dear All
Great weekend in prospect.
Saturday
12 noon Autumn VP's Lunch in the Clubhouse. We will sit down sharpish at 12.45 pm so if attending the Lunch please be prompt.
3.00 pm - 1st XV v Hellingly (league) and 2nd XV v Chichester 4 (league). Clubhouse in use but with c100 folk sitting down to Lunch it'll be a tad crowded. Usual caveat that if you're in the Clubhouse during the Lunch please behave courteously particularly during the waffling.
c 4.30 Players will have their food and then Kitchen will be closed.
6.00 - 7.30 Lamb Roast or sausages available at £2 a go for those in need of sustenance.
8.00 pm RWC Cup Final - There will be a whole bunch of chairs laid out in the Clubhouse plus standing room as before. Also a marquee will be erected on the grass between the Clubhouse and the main pitch to cater for the youngsters who won't want to be trodden on, anymore that you want to trip over them, in the Clubhouse. They will have their own TV screen, heaters and soft drinks laid on.
If you are bringing Guests please sign them in as usual - much better last weekend so let's keep at it.
Normal rules apply re attitude to Bar staff and other Members/Guests. NB If the Bar Staff have any doubts about the age of anyone attempting to buy alcohol they will not serve them unless they produce valid ID .
Lot of stuff needs to be cleared and set up at various stages during the afternoon/evening so if you see someone lugging tables, chairs, glasses etc about please give them a hand.
PARKING - IF YOU LEAVE YOUR CAR IN THE CAR PARK OVERNIGHT PLEASE MAKE SURE PARKED PROPERLY AND PREFERABLY PLEASE PICK IT UP BEFORE 10.30 ON SUNDAY MORNING.
DO NOT PARK YOUR CAR ANYWHERE UP AGAINST THE REAR OF THE CLUBHOUSE ON THE TARMAC PATH It must be kept clear at all times for emergency/service vehicle access and pedestrians plus it's just lazy really.
Sunday
Matches and training right the way across the Mini and Youth sections so the place will be humming and the Car Park will be manned or womanned to make sure all the cars can park properly hence the request to park your car sensibly and/or pick it up before 10.30 if you're there on Saturday. People still come up the lane and into the Car Park way too fast despite the signs and common sense particularly with children wandering about the place which is after all what it's about on a Sunday. If you're asked to slow down or park your car in a certain place by the car parking person, Member and volunteer remember, please do so. We have had too many reports of individuals ignoring requests not to park like an idiot plus being plain rude and it will not be tolerated. Similarly the attitude of some people towards the guys behind the Bar on a Sunday, again mainly volunteers, is unacceptable and the offenders will find themselves at the back of the queue if it happens again.
We've had a whole season now guys so this shouldn't still be happening. You know who you are so sort it out and behave like reasonable people. We have a Code of Conduct kindly observe it.
This weekend will be a fantastic feast of Rugby so let's all enjoy.
Please pass message on to Members not on email. Thanks
